Dust off your cowboy hat and spit-shine your boots for the opening of the NCCE 2012: SEATTLE exhibitor arena. This is your chance to check out the latest innovations, reconnect with corporate friends and take home keepsake souvenirs before the conference begins. The world class marketplace features more than 130 exhibitors in 205,700 square feet of riding space.

NCCE First Poetry Slam
A competitive art of performance poetry

Thursday, March 15 • 7 pm • $15 per person

Live open mic competition, where up to 25 contestants will perform poetry in front of an audience for up to 5 minutes. The poets will be judged by randomly selected enthusiastic members of the audience.

PRIZES:

  • $300 prize for first place
  • $200 for second place
  • $100 for third place

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. From seasoned buckaroos to greenhorns, there’s something for everyone. Snacks will be provided.

*Taylor Mali: As a slam poetry performer, Taylor Mali has been on seven national poetry slam teams; six appeared on the finals stage and four won the competition. Mali is the author of What Learning Leaves and The Last Time as We Are, has recorded four CDs, and is included in various anthologies. He is perhaps best known for the poem “What Teachers Make.”
