This presentation will focus on what MathCasting looks like, the educational benefits to students doing math digitally and the presenter's experience with teaching math digitally. The presentation will show how students can learn from receiving content through MathCasting as well as creating content through MathCasting to demonstrate their learning.

Presenter Background: Toby Beck is a grade 7 teacher in West Vancouver, BC, Canada. He has been teaching with laptops in his classroom for 5 years and has recently completed Simon Fraser University's "Teaching and Learning in an Information Technology Environment" Graduate Diploma program with a focus on constructivist learning in math through the use of MathCasts. Students in his math class create MathCasts that demonstrate their learning as well as receive MathCast lessons designed by their teacher to explain new concepts being taught. Toby is interested in students receiving and creating digital content to express their learning.
