NCCE is so proud to formally announce Kathy Dorr, professional development specialist, has joined the NCCE team! Kathy has come onboard as one of our fabulous trainers providing high quality professional development around the Northwest. Her kind nature and vast knowledge in teaching and learning makes Kathy a huge asset to the NCCE team.
Kathy has over 30 years of classroom experience and brings a wealth of educational knowledge to NCCE. She has been an early literacy coach, a reading specialist, a technology integration resource specialist, and a professional development provider throughout the United States. At the university level she has taught several pre-service social studies courses that emphasize the use of primary sources to deepen and enhance historical perspectives.
Many of our NCCE members may have met Kathy over the summer at the NCCE – Library of Congress trainings. Kathy has a passion for life- long learning and has worked closely with the Library of Congress to help create and organize lesson materials that integrate primary sources for classroom use, as well as teaching primary source workshops throughout the Northwest region.
Please welcome Kathy to the team if you have the opportunity to do so. She will be presenting a 3 hour Library of Congress workshop at the WLMA conference October 13th, 2012 from 2pm-5pm.
