| The objectives
of the NCCE awards programs are to:
- Recognize
excellence in the many outstanding members of NCCE
- Focus professional
attention on quality technology education and on exemplary
technology educators and leaders
- Increase
public awareness of the importance of quality technology
education
- Set standards
for the quality use of computers and related technologies
in education and show how these standards can be achieved
- Provide tangible
recognition of achievement, earn respect of colleagues,
and enhance professional opportunities for NCCE members

Outstanding
Technology Educator of the Year
NCCE awards the Outstanding
Technology Educator of the Year Award to a member who has daily
contact with students.
Criteria for Technology
Educator of the Year
The candidate must:
- Be a current member
of NCCE
- Have significantly
influenced staff and/or student performance using computers
and related technologies in education
- Have worked beyond
his or her job description to improve the effectiveness of technology
use in education
- Have achieved integration
of technology into the curriculum well beyond that assumed in
his or her job description
- Have expanded his
or her professional expertise by participating in workshops,
seminars, conferences, and other professional development opportunities
Outstanding
Technology Leader of the Year
The Outstanding Technology
Leader of the Year goes to an individual whose work assignment
includes time in a coordinator or supervisory position.
Criteria for the
Technology Leader of the Year
The candidate must:
- Be a current member
of NCCE
- Have influenced
technology in education and have made a significant long-term
contribution beyond his or her job description
- Have collaborated
beyond the institution, building, district, or region
- Have participated
in NCCE as a leader or as a volunteer
Nominations
To nominate an NCCE
member for one of these awards, simply follow these four steps:
- Complete the NCCE
Awards Nomination Form.
- Write a short (one
page maximum) essay on the reasons this individual should receive
the award.
- Include at least
two letters of support for the nomination.
- Send the nomination
form, essay, and support letters by Jan. 6, 2006, to:
