Vince Ruggiano
Candidate for
K-12 District Representative
Oregon

I would like to hold the position of K-12 District Level Technology Representative for the NCCE Board of Directors. I believe that my experience, focus on the integration of technology in curriculum and background in developing and delivering staff development to facilitate instructional technology in schools qualifies me for this position.

Throughout my career as an educator, I have been involved with instructional technology. I have seen, first hand, how technology integration supports and enhances instruction in schools. In addition, as an instructional technology conference attendee, presenter and committee member, I have seen how instructional technology conferences support this process. Technology conferences provide resources and support mechanisms for educators that are developing and using technology techniques and strategies in curriculum integration. During these trying economic times, these resources become increasingly more valuable as cash-strapped schools and districts struggle with instructional technology support.

I have been a member of NCCE for twelve years. During that time, I have been a presenter at NCCE conferences, and I have served on NCCE conference committees. I have also acted as an NCCE volunteer. In addition, I have served, and am serving, on conference committees for NECC. My district-level position allows me to work with teachers, administrators and schools to develop and realize technology plans that enhance curriculum through the use of instructional technology. I am also responsible for developing and providing staff development that facilitates this process. As a result of these district-level responsibilities, I have increased my awareness of the issues involved in technology integration, and I have developed a global perspective that I can bring to the NCCE board. I hope that you will consider my nomination for K-12 District Level Technology Representative.

Thank you,
