My name is Rick Williams from Wenatchee, WA. and am a candidate for the middle school representative on the NCCE Board of Directors. At the present time I teach technology to seventh and eighth grade students at Foothills Middle School. In addition to my teaching duties I am also a building TRT (Technical Resource Teacher). It is my job to help teachers with computer technical problems and also to show them ways to integrate technology into their curriculum. I have been an attendee at all of the NCCE Conferences over the past 10 years and a presenter at three of the conferences. Also I have been part of the conference committee for the past 3 Spokane conferences and again am a member of the 2004 Spokane conference. One of my greatest pleasures is helping teachers gain an understanding of how to use a piece of technology and then have them integrate it into their classroom curriculum. Even though I teach classes in my lab I encourage teachers to send their students to my lab in order to use equipment that they do not have in their classrooms. Nothing is worse than to have equipment and not have it used. My hobbies are technology related as I really enjoy working with digital photography and digital video. If I am elected to the NCCE
Board it will allow me to work from the inside in helping promote and
teach teachers how to integrate technology into their classroom curriculum.
