(March 15, 2010)– (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho) – Rick Williams, Technology teacher for Foothills Middle School in the Wenatchee School District, was honored with the prestigious Northwest Council for Computer Education Eric Jensen Leadership Award.  He received this award for his dedication and service on the board for 7 years for the NCCE organization at the 39th Annual Conference held in Seattle, Washington on March 5.  NCCE hosts the largest educational technology conference in the Pacific Northwest and effectively brings together a partnership of communities – educators, corporate friends and associations who are all dedicated to bringing the best technology to offer to schools.

The Eric Jensen Leadership Award goes to an outstanding individual who has provided leadership to NCCE organization and its members. Williams has been extremely instrumental in coordinating prizes and working on the technology team for the conferences for many years.  This award recognizes his commitment to making sure all students are prepared which reflects the spirit of past president Eric Jensen.  Eric Jensen was a long time educator and technology leader in the Wenatchee School District.

According to Heidi B. Rogers, Executive Director, NCCE, “Rick’s 17 years as active NCCE member and over 30 years of experience in education technology is such an asset for our organization.  He is a fantastic team member and I appreciate his hard work.”  “What makes this such a special award is because Eric Jensen pushed so hard to get technology education on the radar.  The fact that Rick Williams and Eric Jensen are both from Wenatchee, makes it more meaningful,” stated Rogers.
