By redefining the school librarian as an “Information Specialist” in terms familiar to advocates of the American Association of School Librarians’ Information Power, the Department of Defense Dependents Schools lured Janet Murray away from the Portland (Oregon) Public Schools to Kinnick High School in Yokosuka, Japan. An early enthusiast for electronic access to information, Janet was one of the co-founders of K12Net, a global collection of bulletin board systems for educators.

Tammy Worcester has over twenty years of educational experience.  While teaching, Tammy also served as the technology coordinator for her K-8 school. For the past ten years, Tammy has worked for ESSDACK, an educational service center, as an Instructional Technology Specialist, providing staff development and training in the area of technology integration.

Dr. Annette Lamb has been a school library media specialist, computer teacher, and professor of education and library science. She is currently teaching online graduate courses for librarians and educators as a professor at Indiana University - Indianapolis. She writes, speaks, and conducts professional development workshops, presentations, and keynotes throughout North America and is well-known for her realistic approaches to technology integration and information inquiry.

Patrick Crispen is the Instructional Technology Coordinator at California State University in Southern California. He is also a doctoral student in the higher education administration program at the University of Southern California (estimated graduation: 2010) and has a masters degree in educational technology from Pepperdine University (2001) and a bachelors degree in economics from the University of Alabama (1998).

Randy Orwin is currently the Director of Technology with Bainbridge Island School District and runs his own educational technology consulting company. He has a broad background in the K12 educational arena having been a tech director for nine years and a classroom teacher for fourteen years. 

Jannita created major events in her district by creating partnerships with anyone who could help her elementary classroom of second language learners. She forged relationships with the county office of education, film studios, television stations, and other local schools. Her students virtually visited around the world, attended premieres and were social agents for change.

An enthusiastic user of mobile technologies and an evangelist for Open Education, Karen Fasimpaur has over fifteen years experience in education and educational technology, working with schools and educational organizations to integrate technology.

Leslie Conery is the Deputy CEO of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), a membership association dedicated to providing leadership and service to improve teaching, learning, and school leadership by advancing the effective use of technology in education. 

Joe Dockery teaches high school multimedia courses and manages the school’s technology staff development, and website. He weaves community service into all aspects of his curriculum to ensure his students receive authentic learning experiences. Dockery also consults and trains nationwide on the use and integration of Adobe products as an Adobe Education Leader. He also helps organize the Northwest High School Film Festival.

Kevin Silberberg, a District Advisor and principal trainer for the Kern County Superintendent of Schools, has had a varied career as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and faculty member at three universities, and for fifteen years a champion for the effective use of technology in our schools. He has received numerous awards for school leadership from school districts, universities, the Association of California School Administrators, and state and federal departments of education.
