Heidi B. Rogers, Ed.D. is Executive Director of the Northwest Council for Computer Education (NCCE), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting effective uses of technology in education.  She leads one of the largest conferences for educational technology in the Pacific Northwest.  She was recently appointed to the Idaho Students Come First Technology Task Force as the At-Large Representative in June 2011.

She is the 2010 President of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association, (PCMA).  Heidi’s experience in serving as an active member and leader for nonprofit organizations is extensive.  She has served as president of four nonprofit organizations; PCMA, NCCE, International Society of Technology Education (ISTE), and the EXCEL Foundation supporting the Coeur d’Alene School District.

Rogers is also on staff at the University of Idaho-Coeur d’Alene.  She specializes in the development and direction of non-traditional outreach activities, such as workshops, conferences, and other educational events.  She is also involved in the building of university-community partnerships, discovering opportunities for the university to exercise its service role and connecting with educators in the Northwest

Born and raised on a horse and cattle ranch in Oklahoma, Dr. Rogers received her Doctorate of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Oklahoma State University with an emphasis in Information Communication and Educational Technology.  She also holds a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Secondary Education. She resides in northern Idaho with her son and takes advantage of playing golf in one of the country’s most scenic destinations to live and play.

Appointed to the Idaho Students Come First Technology Task Force – At-Large Representative   •  June 2011- Present

  • As a member of the Technology Task Force, Heidi joins over 35 other individuals from across Idaho to help implement the technology components of the Students Come First laws. Specifically, the task force studies and develops plans for the implementation of online course requirements, one-to-one mobile computing devices in high schools, and other topics determined by the task force chairman and State Superintendent, Tom Luna.

University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene  •  1992 – Present

  • Specializes in the development of non-traditional outreach activities, such as workshops, conferences, and other educational events.
  • Builds University of Idaho community partnerships, discovering opportunities for the University to exercise its service role and connecting with educators in the Northwest.
  • Coordinates the annual International Economic Summit for Region 1 schools in Idaho.

i-STEM  •  2010-2011

  • Provide Microsoft Innovative Educator professional development workshops in Twin Falls, Idaho (2011) and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho (2010-2011) for the i-Stem Summer Institute.
  • Provided Microsoft Innovative Educator professional development workshop at the Idaho Partnerships in Education (PIE) Conference in North Idaho.

New Century Classroom  •  1992-2002

A one of a kind model classroom that provided an environment for teaching, evaluating, and displaying state-of-the art technology to teachers, administrators, and patrons. The classroom served as a resource and professional development center for educators in the Northwest.

  • Coordinator of the New Century Classroom at the University of Idaho
  • Dr. Rogers and her team received over $10 million in grants to provide professional development for educators in the Northwest.
